Pearson acquires language learning platform Mondly
Pearson announced the acquisition of a language learning platform Mondayallowing Pearson to add self-study to its suite of teaching and assessment solutions, according to a press release.
Mondly, which offers lessons in English and 40 other languages, ranks among the top 5 language learning apps by number of downloads, according to Stastica. Its courses are also offered on its website and via Mondly virtual reality and augmented reality products. Mondly’s portfolio includes an enterprise product called MondlyWORKS and a children’s language app called MondlyKIDS.
Pearson said in a press release that it expects the acquisition to accelerate revenue growth from 2023. The Mondly team, including the founders, will join the learning division of the English from Pearson, Pearson said. The terms of the contract are not disclosed.
